Congo’s Caper

“Congo’s Caper” is a bad game; good thing it is adorable. The levels seem randomly designed, the aesthetic is passe even by the standards of its time (caveman platformer on the SNES, there’s already plenty of those that have already been ported to the Switch), and the play is rudimentary and uninspired. It all comes to feel like shareware you’d acquire from a bin in a dressed-up warehouse along with twenty other games you’ll play for less than half an hour, and as I’m nostalgic for such trash, I’m tempted to be kinder to this game than it might deserve.
