Curse of Chucky

Even the better "Child's Play" films were schlocky messes of horror tropes that were better MST3K'd than watched, so color me shocked that "Curse" is phenomenal. It took Mancini and crew twenty years to figure out how to milk the Chucky character for legit thrills and chills, and whaddaya know, the answer involved pairing back the setup to something manageable, shooting everything like they're making an art film, and making the protagonist less mobile than Chucky. You can feel the budget at times, but this is the best horror film you can hope to get out of this concept.
