Deus Ex

First: yes, this is an ugly game, and the combat never feels right. In practically every other measurable element, though, “Deus Ex” remains a triumph. A dizzying narrative obsessed with practically every conspiracy theory ever put forth serves as an excuse plot for Cyborg Jesus to navigate a world where those in power are trying to justify their ill-gotten positions and those without power are just trying to get through today while staying sane. Moral choice systems are all the rage, but there’s something wonderful about a game that doesn’t show you the math of your “morality”. A flawed masterpiece.
