Dr. Strangelove, or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb

There can be (and has been) voluminous essays written about the statements made with "Dr. Strangelove" and how the film's core themes are, unfortunately, still relevant, but none of those essays would be worth a damn if this weren't among the greatest comedies ever committed to film. The "low point" is the initial fifteen minutes of setup, which serves as stark contrast for the absurdity that follows. The climactic shot is one of the most famous images in the history of cinema, but there are at least six other scenes you could argue as the true highlight of "Dr. Strangelove".
