Finding Dory

“Finding Dory” tells the story of an anthropomorphic fish with a disability on a personal journey to find a semblance of home, propelled by a wide cast of weird fish. If this sounds exactly like “Finding Nemo”, know it isn’t because “Nemo” was fresh and busy and interesting while “Dory” is not. “Dory” has the same beats and jokes and arcs, resulting in a weaker, unfocused film. The visuals are wonderful, as are the vocal performances, but Pixar barely earns any brownie points with those aspects these days because that’s just what they do. A weak sequel preying on nostalgia.
