Guacamelee
The first hour is amusing, and there is some good humor sprinkled throughout. “Guacamelee”, unfortunately, fails at being both an effective brawler and at giving a unique take on “Metroid”. The sense of exploration and discovery is destroyed by the map always telling you where you need to go, and fights devolve to throwing enemies at other enemies and hammering the attack button (attempts to shake up this formula late in the game consist of shielded enemies that do little besides provide aggravation via fake difficulty). A short game that still runs out of steam long before the credits roll.
