Guns Akimbo
A film in which Harry Potter participates in a real-life murder game with guns bolted to his hands sounds like trashy fun, and “Guns Akimbo”’s best moments come when it leans into its sadistic leanings. The problem is it wants to be considered a sort of social satire first and a ludicrous action film second, with too many jabs at kids living through their phones and becoming desensitized to violent spectacle to count, and it all rings hollow in a film where someone getting their fingers cut off is immediately followed by a masturbation joke. There’s better garbage out there.
