Hotline Miami 2 (Switch version)

The story sucks, the combat sucks, the messaging sucks, and its failure-based loop of forcing players to learn to dodge bullets shot by offscreen enemies, a questionable decision at the time of its release, is, in a post-“Returnal” world, as obsolete as a “Best of Jimmy Savile” DVD. “Hotline Miami 2” is all frustration with no reward, the artistic equivalent of a teenager pissing on a wall while flipping you the bird and threatening to kill your parents. This should be exhibited in DigiPen as a prime reference for what sort of game doesn’t deserve to exist in this world.
