Little Hope (also marketed as “The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope”)
“Little Hope”, up until its dumb twist ending, is macabre fun that doesn’t make total sense but vibes well enough with its folk-horror influences that you (well, I) don’t mind that it’s a big pile of nonsense. There’s plenty of great tableaus, jumpscares are greatly reduced from the previous “Man of Medan”, and also unlike “Medan”, there’s a cohesive narrative at work rather than a loose concept that just kind of happens. The ending, unfortunately, brings things down a lot. I don’t hate it as much as many seem to, but this could’ve used some rewrites, if not outright restructuring.
