Nobody (2021 film)

Remember how the novelty of “old actor beats up a bunch of guys” films almost died with the feature that helped popularize it (“Taken”, starring Liam Neeson and a bevy of gangsters polite enough to let him catch up)? Thankfully, “Nobody” chooses to take its cues from “John Wick” over that garbage, never coming close to greatness but becoming breezy viewing when the pesky human drama BS goes out the window halfway through and the jokes and bodies pile up. A better script might’ve helped the first half, but you don’t hire the director of “Hardcore Henry” for his subtlety.
