Possessor

I’ve not totally caught up on genre releases of the past year, but I’m confident saying “Possessor” is the horror film 2020 deserved. Wrapped up in the considerable gore and alien elements of the presentation (though admittedly far less monstrous than I was expecting given Brandon Cronenberg’s name on the byline) is a story of the toll affecting normalcy takes on an individual. For all the technobabble spilled, “Possessor” is really about the sort of person who needs to practice saying “hello”, making her, without question, the most relatable horror film protagonist in a long time.
