Punch-Out!! (revisited)

This isn’t as bad as I initially believed. Some of the attack patterns are too hard to read, but most of them are easy enough to figure out; I have affection for when a tell is a signal to attack rather than dodge. This is a rhythm game more than a sport game, and I feel this would have been so much better if it had leaned into these tendencies or gave evidence they knew what kind of game they were making. It’s sloppy, likeable, flawed, and probably not as good as you remember—the NES library in a nutshell.
