Red Dead Redemption 2

“Red Dead Redemption 2”, for all that’s been said about it, tries hard to not be pigeonholed. It conveys a narrative about a cult of personality coming undone and is arguably brilliant in this telling, but the mission variety is practically nonexistent until the two epilogues—Dutch has a plan, the plan mostly goes well until stuff goes crazy, play a shooting gallery to get out. Rockstar spent most of this decade making what probably should have just been a TV show, if only to spare all our L2 buttons. Still three times as good as “Red Dead Redemption”, though.
