Saved!

Well, don’t this put me in a pickle. “Saved!” is a “satire” of Christianity and teen movies that also registers like if someone talented had written “Not Another Teen Movie” but that talented person also thought naming the protagonist of this idiot plot Mary was a worthwhile endeavor. The comedy gets muddled in the third act and some of the gags register more as the writer having a bone to pick with Christianity over good-natured ribbing, but I can’t say this wasn’t entertaining, mostly thanks to Mandy Moore chewing all of the scenery. A decent way to spend ninety minutes.
