Smiling Friends (Season One)

I don’t know, man, I just…okay, you know how modern humor is moving away from being funny and towards being relatable? Like, being humorous is slowly becoming at odds with the goal of modern comedy? Well, this is the first one that does that that worked for me despite being funny, because while other modern comedies try to find hopefulness in relatability, “Smiling Friends” outright says what we’re all thinking, that society is in a tailspin and there’s no way to pull out of it, so we may as well piss out the windows of the plane. I, uh, think?
