Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
At last, we get to the point of these prequels, and surprise, the completion of the primary character’s arc is underwhelming and ill-informed. The big dumb heel turn feels insubstantial, while the violence around it feels completely out of place in a jovial set of films (yeah, path towards darkness, but you can pull that off without sacrificing tone). A few admittedly well-constructed action set pieces keep this thing from being a complete failure, but the promised answers and conclusions don’t clarify or satisfy, just aggravate. Just a painful viewing experience I can’t recommend to anyone but diehard, stubborn completionists.
