Star Wars: Episode VI: Return of the Jedi

“Jedi”’s best moments are on par with the incredible films that preceded it. The most emotional moments of the finale truly feel earned, and the action of the first hour serves as a welcome departure from the darkness of “Empire”’s final act. It doesn’t do a great job of connecting its pieces, though, especially when compared to the immaculate first two films. The rest of its finale is too busy, and the game of catchup the plot engages in slows the pacing to a crawl, though neither is ruinously so. A great finale to a story that still deserved better.
