I don’t know what it will take for wrestling to become “hot” again, but this match felt like a glimpse into an alternate dimension where wrestling was in vogue. There’s not much of an internal narrative in this match, but WWE’s soap opera stylings mean there’s already a story going into it: Judgment Day are conniving twerps, everybody loves Steenerico, and the drama comes from questioning whether WWE are crazy enough to do a title switch on free TV so soon after the twerps won it. The crowd was into everything and it was all fun—more of this, please.
