Super Mario Bros.

The dirty little secret about “Super Mario Bros.” is that the best way to get through most of its levels is to speed through them. Taking things slow and allowing too much time to pass makes bad scenarios even worse, and this Mario isn’t built to handle too much crisis but IS built to travel through the air really fast. Not nearly as inventive as the games that followed or as mechanically complete, but here’s an efficient platformer that will only take half an hour of your time. One of the most important games ever, and it still holds up.
