Super Metroid

After twentysomething years and countless failed attempts, I finally summoned the patience to finish a playthrough of what many consider to be one of the greatest games of all time, and I’m torn on how I feel on much of it. There are some great sequences, especially in the final hour, and it does a great job of conveying Samus’s growing strength. I might’ve been over the moon for “Super” if it did a better job of signposting where you needed to go. “Super” doesn’t have many chokepoints, but the few it has can be fatal to the player’s motivation.
