“Valis IV” isn’t the best platformer one could play, but it has plenty of charm and a solid presentation that makes it a joy to get through. “Super Valis IV”, on the other hand, is boring, a loose remake that saps all the spirit out of the original and leave you with a game that feels like a bad “Castlevania”. One should not be fighting off sleep while in mortal combat with a knight riding a tiger in spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaace, and yet “Super Valis IV” pulls it off. Canonized in the Switch Online library because Doug Bowser hates pretty much everyone.
