Talk to Me (2022 film)

I’m familiar enough with RackaRacka and their tendency towards comic violence to be surprised that their first feature takes itself completely seriously. Perhaps some jokes would’ve helped the medicine go down as, while “Talk to Me” aspires towards being a somber take on addiction and grief, it’s not altogether intelligent or challenging on the level of “Hereditary” or even the “Hellraiser” remake to stand as something remarkable. The film shines in its dramatic payoffs and special effects shots, and while this makes for an experience where you’re sometimes waiting for the next interesting thing to happen, it’s mostly worth it.
