Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of the Foot Clan (version found in the Switch port of The Cowabunga Collection played for review)

“Fall of the Foot Clan” is transparent about its aspirations and lack of familiarity in the Game Boy’s functions; one imagines this would’ve been a Game and Watch title if it had released five years earlier. That said, it is surprisingly enjoyable, doing a fine job with the presentation and conveyance of violence while also presenting a fair challenge, throwing a decent variety of enemies at you with little respite. It never gets old, almost every HP lost felt earned, and the overall package is more satisfying than many portable Mega Man titles. An underrated title that deserves more love.
