Terry Funk vs. Jerry “The King” Lawler (Empty Arena), from the CWA Wrestling broadcast aired on April 6, 1981

I’d been warned to expect something terrible with this match, but it was better than I expected. Granted, there’s not much of a match here—seven minutes of weird brawling that comes to an abrupt stop when one of them gets injured—but old-school wrestling is as much about the theater surrounding the match as the match itself and Funk swearing up a storm calling out that rat coward bastard Lawler (and then acting like a cowardly heel when the fighting starts) is plenty entertaining on its own. Not a classic, but better than “Halftime Heat”, at the very least.
