The Dark Eye (1995 game)
"The Dark Eye" has one of the best ideas for an adventure game I've ever heard of, in which you experience, through a first-person perspective, an assortment of Edgar Allan Poe tales through the eyes of its killers and victims. It's the sort of genius concept that begs for a high-class treatment, but while Inscape nail the visuals and aesthetic with macabre stop-motion puppetry, the game part of the game is a disaster. Too often did I advance a plot without any idea of what I did, and that's when I wasn't losing hours to glitches. Watch an LP, maybe.
