The Fly II

It’s not as bad as I remember. It’s bad, don’t get me wrong, with a hollow story that never meaningfully explores its setup and Stoltz being unable to find his character, and that the follow-up to Cronenberg’s unsettling and emotionally complex masterpiece reduces the material to gore fodder means it will likely always be considered worse than garbage like “Return of the Fly”. That said, as a mindless and silly horror film where the depictions of violence are more important than their context (with surprisingly quality bits sprinkled throughout), you could do a hell of a lot worse than this.
