The finish and aftermath of this match represent wonderful storytelling in a time when the WWF wasn’t so good at this sort of thing, but the match attached to those elements was plenty great in its own right. The Harts are outstanding technical wrestlers but aren’t so good at being a tag team, while Not The Mounties, for as little identity they have, are on the same page throughout, and that makes for a surprisingly even contest that I was engaged with until the awesome finish. Hindsight helps this one, no doubt, but there was something special going on here.
