The Last of Us (Through the Valley)

There’ll be no appeasing the folk whose dissatisfaction of “Part Two” stems from a dreadful misreading of the first game, though I’d like to think the “Game of Thrones” audience are more reticent towards this kind of story. What’s different here are mostly improvements, translating the dread and lethality of this part of the game in spirit through a whole different centerpiece that does its job of spelling out everyone fighting their own battles (no points off for literalism—it was fun, sue me). The season lives or dies on this episode and they knocked it out of the park.
