The Mitchells vs. the Machines

The set-up reads like the average kids film you make a point to avoid: animated comedy about a dysfunctional family saving the world. “Mitchells”, however, features a bevy of credits that indicate a great work, between the animation team behind “Spider-Verse”, Lord and Miller producing credits, and helmed by some of the writing staff of “Gravity Falls”. The end product lives up to its pedigree, the best comedy of the year so far as well as the best animated film I’ve seen since “Spider-Verse”. Also, this is Olivia Colman’s best role since “Fleabag”. I will not back down on this.
