The Office (Season Six)

“The Office”’s approach to humor, consisting of presenting awkward situations and resolving them without punchlines, is broken. A comedy, no matter whether it is aimed at bright-eyed youths or disillusioned adults, has to convey humor in some fashion, and that “The Office” chooses not to convey humor means it is a broken show. I cannot imagine why a learned populace, with access to both a nigh-infinite well of televised comedy and means to filter out the worst of it, would engage with this. It’s some sort of achievement that so many talented people can work towards something so plainly worthless.
