To All the Boys I've Loved Before (2018 film) (revisited)

An adorable little film that never challenges but certainly charms. A second viewing hints the people behind it have a good degree of love for 80s films, so this registers as an attempt at that minus many of the gross elements of the time ("Boys" calls out the racism in "Sixteen Candles" which, great, but that's far from the film's only affliction). It keeps its side characters underdeveloped, you can call the whole A-plot by the end of the first act, and it could stand to be ten minutes shorter, but "To All" entertains enough to garner a soft recommendation.
