Drag Me to Hell

1977’s “House” (erm, “Hausu”, sometimes) may never be topped when it comes to combining horror and comedy, but I’m not convinced that film isn’t from another planet. Of what has been assuredly made on Earth, “Drag Me” is tops in my eyes, dragging someone made up for a romantic comedy through an “Evil Dead” film that was inexplicably given a budget of $30 million. The film dares you to not be entertained as it piles on the absurd and ghastly sights, blazing through its ninety minutes so quickly that it feels less than half its length. Damn close to perfect.
