Vampire Survivors (Early Access as of late April 2022)

“Vampire Survivors” represents the first game I’ve engaged with in Early Access, possibly discounting a title that was given away for free, and the core gameplay loop remains fun even as I’m aware of its empty calories. AOE attacks are still my go-to form of resistance, but the stacking Steam achievements ensure I occasionally get out of simply obliterating everything via existing so I can be reminded of how much I don’t care for the throwing axes. I don’t gather playing this much when the achievements finally stop, but I’ve been entertained for dozens of hours, so $3 well spent.
