Go Shiozaki, Takuma Sano, and Yoshihiro Takayama vs. BURNING (KENTA / Hideo Itami, Kenta Kobashi, and Tamon Honda), from Pro Wrestling NOAH Global Tag League 2008 Night Nineteen

This match shines when it sticks to the narrative it introduces in its opening moments, Shiozaki announcing himself as someone that can’t be ignored. The three other veritable legends in this match do everything they can to put over Shiozaki as the future of the company, and that the crowd are fully on board with this idea means this match accomplished what it set out to do. Too bad there’s two other guys in this match, though, as Honda and Sano, at least as of 2008, had little to offer in the ring. Probably should’ve been a normal tag match.
