When Evil Lurks

There’s a greater message in “When Evil Lurks” about our failing systems and the grim fates that await the first ones hurt by their collapse. There’s also a considerable amount of violence that many folks have described as “disturbing” and “unsettling”; no spoilers, but those who react poorly to violence involving children should sit this one out. As for me, I appreciated the commentary but reacted to the comic violence more like this was a pitch-black farce than anything else, and that I was never bored or felt insulted by this means it's better than ninety-nine percent of horror films.
