About a Girl (2020 Egyptian film)

This was on the high end of bad—how’s that for a backhanded compliment? The central gimmick of this film, or at least its most novel aspect, is not truly central to the film, which goes a long way towards explaining why I found it underwhelming. You’d think a short film would make the most of every second, but after setting up its conceit, “Girl” doesn’t do much with it or have it serve a greater purpose beyond serving an obvious coda. The shots and acting were fine, but there’s simply nothing here worth watching over so many other alternatives.
