Deadly Premonition (XBox 360 version)

On pure mechanics alone, fine, this game is a fucking mess. If you’re the sort of person who demands a revolutionary, high-octane gaming experience, look elsewhere. If you’re the sort of person who likes to curl up with weird books, though, “Deadly Premonition” should be right up your alley. Sure, it cribs quite a bit from “Twin Peaks”, but there’s just enough odd conveyance here to warrant sticking through to the end. You simply don’t get much surrealism in most games, and this game leaks the stuff. Stick through its rough first hour and you’ll be in for a treat.
