Get Out
2017: the year we learned Sad 50 Cent could be the next Hitchcock. "Get Out" isn't a flawless film (the third act suffers from pacing issues as well as a substantial plot hole), but it is otherwise an outstanding film, one that isn't afraid of hanging on an image or awkward conversation to unnerve the audience. "Get Out", like "The Birds", could've easily been in a whole other genre until its latter half, and Jordan Peele takes a page from Stanley Kubrick in using characters's eyes to guide the audience. The rare amazing modern horror film with a good ending.
