Kenta Kobashi vs. Stan Hansen, from the AJPW Budokan Hall show held on July 29, 1993
Mitsuharu Misawa may be the greatest All Japan wrestler of all time in terms of stage presence and technical execution, but I'll always argue that Kobashi was a better storyteller. Misawa's matches were convincing athletic competitions (and breathtaking ones at that), but Kobashi was the company's Son Goku, making every match about surpassing his own limitations in addition to slaying whatever was in front of him. It's this approach that gets him the best singles match of Stan Hansen's career, with no regard for scorekeeping or back-and-forth because there's no room for that when you're making legends. Damn near perfect.
