Let the Right One In (2008 film)

This is one of those films that leaves you thinking “I think I enjoyed that” (you know, above “I enjoyed that”). I’m told the original novel has a more hopeful outlook than this adaptation, along with clearer defined shades of morality, but the emotional journey this took me on had me wondering if this was an offbeat depiction of young love or a nauseating tale of abuse cycles. That’s a good thing, really; this was intentional, and I don’t think nailing down an answer is “the point”. No wonder this was all toned down for the eventual dumb American remake.
