Super Xevious (version found in the Switch port of “Namco Museum Archives Volume Two” played for review)
The NES port of “Xevious” was bad, suffering from poor gameplay and lacking visuals, so for the SUPER sequel, they fixed none of these issues and introduced whole new ones. The later areas grant some needed variety, but good luck getting to them as finishing a stage isn’t done like almost every other vertical shooting game ever made but by solving a puzzle, which you wouldn’t know to do without looking up a guide because the game doesn’t so much as convey there is a puzzle to solve at all. Just an awful experience I do not recommend to anyone.
