Superstore (Season One)

A promising start. “Superstore”, unlike many popular modern television comedies that either feel that jokes don’t belong in a comedy or feel that the modern television comedy needs to die, loves throwing in all manner of jokes, from absurd slapstick that borders on lowbrow to throat-clearing throwaway gags couched as scene transitions, so it is never hurting for funny moments. What’s lacking is some of the cast—many are great at what they do, but the Glenn character is a one-note gag that delivers his lines with all the grace of nails on a chalkboard. I hope it gets better.
