Wet Hot American Summer: First Day at Camp
There’s something admirable about “Wet Hot American Summer: First Day at Camp”’s experimental style. A comedy almost completely devoid of jokes, amusing situations, and merit, it, like the film it is based on, tries to get by on passing off weirdness as its own punchline, an unfortunate habit most creative types grow out of by the time they finish grade school. WHAS devotees will be thrilled to know that this miniseries is just as much of a torturous, vapid experience as the film it is based on. Wretched, purposeless, and fucking awful; watching paint dry would be considerably more fulfilling.
